Shoreline protection is important. A well-vegetated riparian zone significantly reduces sediment and phosphorus input into our lakes, helping to limit the proliferation of algae and aquatic plants. It also helps to keep our shoreline in place. The Grand Lake Association recently shared information on a Watersheds Canada initiative to support shoreline rehabilitation. (MEMBERS SHOULD CHECK THEIR EMAILS FOR A DEADLINE EXTENSION)
